Polishing brass

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc (it contains up to 40% zinc), but it can also contain other metallic additives, such as lead, aluminum, tin, manganese, iron, chromium or silicon.
Due to its unique properties, brass is very popular when creating interior accessories for houses and apartments. It has a wide application in design, art, architecture, but also in other industries.
Brass can be polished, brushed and chemically treated - patina. Polishing gives an exclusive look, which, however, must be regularly maintained or the surface painted, which has its disadvantages. If the paint is damaged, the surface begins to oxidize and gradually acquires a darker color - the so-called patina.
Polishing brass is a demanding process that requires knowledge of technological procedures. For a perfect final surface, it is necessary to choose the right abrasive, polishing wheels and paste. The expertise of the polisher is essential, which determines the grinding and polishing process according to the type of brass, the shape and size of the parts or products. If we do not paint the final surface, but still want to maintain its shiny golden appearance, it is often necessary to polish the surface with special means that are designed for that.
Brass is a soft metal, prone to mechanical damage and oxidation and is difficult to maintain. For these reasons, we recommend some parts from the field of design, art ... made of stainless steel with a polished surface and coated with titanium nitride. It is a chemical-thermal process, when a mechanically resistant surface of golden color is achieved, which does not change its appearance, is indistinguishable from polished brass, does not need to be painted and does not require any further maintenance.
"WE ARE ALSO ABLE TO OFFER THE PRODUCTION OF OTHER SURFACES BASED ON THE CUSTOMER'S SPECIFICATIONS OR SAMPLES. WE PERFORM THESE SURFACES ON BILLETS, BLANKS, PIPE PARTS, WELDMENTS AND COMPONENTS."
